This activity starts and ends in the picturesque village of Sete Cidades, one of the places with the most beautiful natural landscapes on the west side of the island of São Miguel (+/- 30 minutes drive from the city of Ponta Delgada).
At the starting point, in about 15 minutes, we will conduct a safety briefing, a demonstration of how to use the electric bicycle and all its functions, and then proceed with the distribution of equipment. Once this stage is completed, we are ready to embark on this adventure!
To begin, we will cross the bridge that separates Lagoa Azul from Lagoa Verde and enjoy the view as we head towards the Península and the tranquil picnic area of Baía do Silêncio. Returning to the bridge via accessible dirt trails, prepare for a long and steep climb on the main road, along which you can stop at the viewpoints of Lagoa de Santiago and Cerrado das Freiras.
Upon arriving at Miradouro da Vista do Rei, you will find a panoramic view of the lagoons where you can also observe the abandoned hotel “Monte Palace”. This is followed by a more adventurous trail that will take us along Cumeeira Pequena on a gravel road. Passing by Miradouro da Lomba do Vasco, we will finish the tour by descending to the heart of the village of Sete Cidades, passing by Igreja Matriz de São Nicolau, which will lead us back to the starting point.
